Carers allowance

Hi there I have been awarded carers allowance and I got the letter that I have been awarded but they said another letter will follow after that with payments . How long does this take and my claim has been open since April so how much will I be backdated?

can anyone help ?

Hi @tanica123 - it sounds like they're just working out how much you will be paid, & that a letter will be sent out explaining this, so best perhaps to just wait for this letter, tho you may get the money owed first.

Do you know how long it takes for them to work out how much they owe me ? And would I get backdated from April till now ?

It’s been ongoing from the 4th October . I was awarded on the 4th

I'm afraid the only ones that can answer that question is carers allowance theirself. You will need to ring them tomorrow when they open.
