So I have now heard from transforming care about a possible referral to these.
They are uncertain and so am i because it is all CBT again.
Cbt doesnt work for me.
I've asked TC if there is anything else out there.
I need someone to come to medical appts with me, and make the appts.
Feeling less and less able to deal with the world.

I'm sorry you feel less and less able to deal with the world. I'm wondering whether you've ever looked into advocacy? Mind have some information about advocacy on their website.0

Mind and Rethink dont operate where I live as they are not funded to. But I'll check out their info.

That's such a shame. It may be worth looking on your local councils website too0

I've now emailed everything to transforming care for their help to get one, so wait to hear.
Thanks so much for your help and advise0 -
I feel like the past 10 years has seen such a drastic cut back on services that it's become a box ticking exercise for many. How many boxes can you tick for as low funding as possible? It's not the NHS or local authorities fault that their funding has been reduced, you could say it's their fault in how they've gone about reducing funding for specific services but it's someone losing out either way0

I looked into an advocate a couple of years ago but it wasn't what I expected at all. They said they couldn't help practically with medical appointments etc, but could help write a letter of complaint.
I didn't want to complain, I just wanted help with access!!(I really don't need any help complaining!
)
PALs were equally useless. MIND were even more useless, couldn't help with anything at all, just generic sign-posting back to the health services that I couldn't access due to my health conditions.
I'm following this thread with interest in the hope that you do get somewhere with it.0 -

I'm totally depressed and fighting myself not to give up.
In five years of failing mental health I've had eighteen months on and off with steps to change from April 2019 to October 2020 and some time this year or from sep last till not sure when (Feb?) With cmht
Cbt doesnt work for me, neither did cmhts approach and still trying to find out when and why they discharged me
I still have transforming care but tbh they have not done much as yet and not had much contact with them since June
Our country, our government is failing us.
Hannah here at Scope suggested the advocate and, if it works out, sounds like the way to go.
Thank you @Overl@OverlyAnxious1 -
I got the referral letter from IPBT this morning. They want to come here, home visit, in a couple of weeks to do a 90 minute assessment.
I've said No.
No way could I deal with that. Couldnt deal with anyone here at the moment.
I trusted cmht and they let me down.
Dont understand a 90 minute assessment! Pretty sure all my info is on file with transforming care.
Anyway it's not going to happen.

@Bettahm I can understand that you feel so let down by CMHT, I wonder if a home visit would be something you could eventually have. I just think and hope it could open some more support for you0

#2 so what are you doing with all that money?
None of their business
Cant remember what I answered or if I answered. The rest of the question were intrusive as well.
I'm led to believe now they were doing a sneaky assessment without telling me.
So no more people coming here with their 90 minute assessments making me feel frightened and worried.0 -
@Bettahm Have you thought about having an assessment at your GP's practice? I have known a few people to have assessments there with a friend or family member present. Maybe be an option if they do want you to have one and you don't want them in your home. I would also encourage you to reach out to Citizen's Advice for more support if you haven't already.0

I've emailed cancelling the appointment for the 90 minute assessment.
Just no way I could go thru with that.
Have asked them to confirm cancellation.
Transforming care say social Prescribing might do the medical appointments help without all their other stuff which I dont want, so waiting to hear.0
