It can take anything up to 12 weeks after the report was returned to DWP. No one can predict what the decision will be. Once it’s made you will be contacted.

Hi @winyard - & welcome to the community. I'm sorry for the number of strokes you've had, & how some activities of daily living & your mobility have been affected.
Altho you've been told it could be 8 weeks until you get a decision, in reality it can be anything from 2-12 weeks. Unfortunately we can't say if you'll be awarded PIP, as it depends if you meet the criteria, & if you therefore get sufficient points to get an award. Hopefully all will go well.

Hi Caroline, I know the waititng is just awful. I am so sorry about your situation. Yes, they tell you it might take around 8 weeks, but obviously it differs. I had my decision a week after assesement, so fingers crossed for you:-) Please let us know if you hear anything, hopefully soon:-)

Good news! When did you actually ring to start the claim, was it September 11th? If it was then it will not be paid from May I’m afraid.

You can’t backdate a PIP claim to a date before you rang to start the claim, it doesn’t work like that. If it did then everyone would be doing that.
