Hello, I’ve an issue i hope some of you can help me with. I was getting PIP when I was living at my parents house. They both died very close to each other and I moved out to live with a friend. After a few months my PIP payment was late and I was short paid so I phoned up and they told me they had sent me a letter which I didn’t get because it was sent to my parents old address. The new people living there had returned the letter to PIP and told them I didn’t live there so PIP have now suspended my payments and said they will investigate my claim to see if it can be reinstated and this could take up to 8 weeks! The man on the phone kept asking me if I had any else I wanted to tell them!!?????
I’ve no idea what I’ve done wrong apart from not telling them I’d moved so why would it take 8 weeks to investigate!!??
This is in Northern Ireland by the way.
has this happened to anyone else?

Hey there @jlo65 and welcome to the community. How are you today?

Unfortunately, the DWP do state you need to report any change of circumstances to them asap. But I cant say why it would take them 8 weeks to check things out.  Hopefully one of our super knowledgeable regulars will be able to help?

There's really no timescales i'm afraid. Hopefully it won't be too long and they will put the award back into payment. Are you claiming any other benefits? If so did you report the changes for those?
