Pain Management Clinics

My gp emailed me on September 12 saying the referral had finally been done and I should hear from them shortly.
I havent heard anything.
I know from reading on this forum that the waiting list is long but can someone please tell me shouldn't they acknowledge receipt of the referral.
The reason I'm worried is my gp has told me they have done a referral in the past (eye clinic) when in fact they hadn't.
So then I was waiting and waiting to hear till over a month later eye clinic confirmed they had never had one. When they finally got one they emailed me that they should have thrown it out! Dont know what was wrong with it.
But with my gps track record I'm worried it's happened again.
Or do they not acknowledge them. I have emailed the pain management clinic twice but no reply.

Heya @Bettahm I'm so sorry this has been dragging on so long for you.
In my experience I've never received a confirmation of referral, only appointment letters when it was time to visit.
Do you have a phone number for the pain management clinic? Sometimes emails don't get checked, or get lost, or the email given isn't for general enquiries. Phoning is often the best plan.Albus (he/him)

Ah of course, sorry, my brain is like a sieve today. In that case emailing transforming care is a very good idea if you cant pin down your GP. Best of luck!Albus (he/him)

I've had a referral to the pain clinic a couple of times and never received confirmation at all. The 2nd time i waited a whole year before i had my appointment and it was a total waste of my time. I've never personally had any good feedback from either of my appointments and i've been back quite a few times after my first appointment.I know in future, if i'm every offered it again i will say "thanks, but no thanks" I hope you have a better experience than i did.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

The other one I could look at is to get on the spinal pathway they call it but the nearest is in the next county I'd never get there.
This is for scoliosis, I'm getting a lot of pain all over. Currently ribs are painful and pelvis, lower back. But pain moves around. My necks bad too.
Short of giving up and lying down all day not sure what to do.
Hope for the best with the pain clinic. And soon.
