Given 10 year award of Enhanced Daily Care and Enhanced Mobility.

I was not aware they give 10 year award unless you are terminally ill, which I am not?

TIMELINE

1st December 2022: Sent in PIP Review Form and medical evidence.  V detailed form and lots of medical evidence.

October 2023: Text from Independent Assessment Services saying we have your PIP form

November 2023 : Called Independent Assessment Services to see if there’s any update and they told me I’d “due” an assessment and asked me to attend an assessment two days later

11 days ago:  Had phone assessment

8 days ago: text from DWP to say my health assessment report has been received by them

1 day ago: text from DWP to say “your PIP Review is complete.”

Today:  Called PIP and was told I’ve been awarded Enhanced Care in both, for ten years.

The turnaround time between the health assessment report being received and them making a decision is very fast, I think?  7 days.

    I don't think this is a group that likes positive outcomes very much.

    Great news. Yes a 10 year award is possible. It's unlikely that someone applying through special rules with 12 months or less left to live would receive a 10 year award.

    You need to be aware that views are counted even if you're not a member. There's always people looking at the forum as a "guest" who can't comment on threads. You also need to be aware that many people here respond to threads freely in their own spare time and have health conditions theirself. We can't always respond as soon as someone posts.

    That's brilliant news! I bet you're relieved. I've had 2 x 5 year awards which I also feel is pretty decent, my next review is April 2024, hopefully they don't mess it up this time.

    Thanks for sharing :smile:

    Fantastic result! Really pleased for you, at least now (apart from stress of coping with health condition) you can forget about stress of reviews etc for 10 years!

    @IMStruggling

    I'm grateful to you for sharing your results and the timeline of your claim. This is likely to inspire hope in others who have been waiting for a long time. The news about your ten-year award and enhancement for both daily living and mobility is positive. The period of waiting and wondering about the outcome is finally over for you, and I'm genuinely happy for you.
