Hi 👋
I wonder how can I get a partially sighted certificate ?
I am blind in one eye (glaucoma) and it affects my whole vision when I move or doing something.

I have applied for PIP and was refused.
If anyone know what’s the best I can do in my situation to get some help ,please 🌺

i believe being blind in one eye does not count as being partially sighted unless you have some vision loss in the other eye i myself had a couple of small strokes and was left with vision loss in both eyes the hospital after a few eye tests filled in the sight impaired certificate for me0

Hey there @glaucoma24 and welcome to the community.
I've found a roadmap for you here from the RNIB which may be useful?
Many people are turned down for PIP, but it doesn't mean you aren't eligible for it. Depending on when you were refused, it may be worth asking for a mandatory reconsideration. With PIP it's less about telling them about your disabilities and more about showing how said disabilities tick the boxes for their descriptors, with real life scenarios. We're all here to help you if you feel up to it.0 -
Thank you for your replies!
I have appealed to tribunal with help of some charity company (waiting for hearing date now).
I have found some information at RNIB:
Hospital ophthalmologist can assessed you for certification, you should be referral by GP or an optician.0 -
@glaucoma24 Hopefully the date comes through soon! I am so glad to hear you have support. Please keep us updated0
