I am currently in receipt of DLA mobility low rate. I note on reading disability rights handbook.. You can only receive an award of the enhanced rate in the new claim if you were receiving that in your previous award … if you were receiving standard rate , you can only be awarded that rate in the new claim. even if your mobility needs have increased.

You have definitely misunderstood what you read because it’s not correct.DLA and PIP are 2 completely different benefits with different criteria. Theres lots of people that were only receiving low rate mobility for DLA and went into be award Enhanced mobility PIP.0

Just noticed your other thread and based on what you said in there unless you’re also claiming for a physical condition then it’s unlikely you would be entitled to Enhanced mobility anyway. Thread here for others to see https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/112603/pip-claim-new#latest
It would have probably been better to ask this question on your other thread to save confusion as that’s also about the mobility part.0
