Cmht discharge letter

Dated April 19 2023
They finally sent me a copy after repeatedly requesting it for weeks.
So they discharged me without telling or giving a reason.
They DID come here and do an assessment for social care without telling me that was what the appt was for, or what they were planning. So on the day all the questioning and commenting left me extremely worried and anxious. So much so I sent them a long and in depth email days later explaining how that situation had left me.
Got no response to it at all!!!
I did not get along with my support worker who kept trying to make me do stuff I couldnt do, and was causing extreme distress, and her saying it's only fear and the only way to get over it is to do it. So I decided not to let that woman into my house any more. I was just feeling worse and misunderstood and ill.
Through mental health professionals who are suppose to work with YOU, the individual,  to help you through.

So the letter was sent to that gp who no doubt filed it and forgot it, no referral to further mental health care or anything.

Letter said cmht had made a plan of ongoing social care and cmht care which I was not engaging with and no longer responding therefore making an impact on our services, so referred back to you (gp)

They should have read, understood and responded to my long email.

There was no dialogue between us.

Just them shoving their agenda, if you dont like it, tough.

I'm still pursuing this because it stinks.

Hi @Bettahm, have you spoken to the Care Quality Commission about this? Even if they do not take it on, they could give you helpful advice or information. They should be openly communicating with you.

Let us know how you get on! Fingers crossed for you

They emailed me that copy of the discharge letter so after I read it I emailed back saying much of what I've said here plus they decide all this without consulting or listening to me at all! Like complete control freaks, just come in and try to take over.
I am still totally unsure why they assessed for social care, other than I'd have to pay for it. Meaning more assessments, more strain on my mental health. And what for?
Anyway emailed their letter and my response to mps office who are taking it up again.
So will wait to hear from that.
Meanwhile transforming care have referred me back to cmht for psychology so waiting to hear if they will have me back for that only.
If they do I get an advocate for free from voiceability and that should help a lot I hope.
Tired of fighting as it's making me ill.

Mps office emailed this afternoon, they have a copy of the email allegedly sent to me on Nov 8 by cmht team manager which I never received (therefore never responded to) also team manager says hes talked to me on the phone. Which he hasn't.
There is something really weird going on.
Mps office are going to ask PALS to forward this email to me.
Hate to say cmht are lying to mps office but looks that way.....
I'm trying to keep an open mind. Maybe they just dont know what they're doing.
Either way I dont need this and they are making the situation worse.

This is really bugging me. I have definitely never spoken to the cmht team manager or received an email from him.
So why is he saying that I have to both these.
I didnt even know if the team manager was male or female till today, and therefore didnt know his name.
The email the mps office has has my name and email address on it. So no mistaken identity.
The email was not in my junk file, or promos, social, any other file.
    So it was never received.
Or never sent. Cant prove I never spoke to him but know I havent.
    This is a cover up.

I know how you feel. I've had bad experiences with my local CMHT too.

Instead of taking the time to actually help me with gentle, supportive talking therapies, my CMHT care coordinator was more interested in just crossing her arms and telling me ''You need to go outside more often!'', ''You need to go out and make friends!'', and was constantly trying to pressure me to do things I just couldn't cope with.. Then she told me one day during an appointment ''Oh, by the way, new guidelines state we can no longer see patients long-term anymore, especially if the patient isn't making any progress..''

So just because I was struggling to cope/engage with the difficult demands that she was making of me, the CMHT suddenly decided to give up and discharged me back to my GP. Luckily I have a supportive GP who was irritated that they had discharged me and wrote a letter to them saying that I needed ongoing support due to my complex needs relating to my PTSD/psychosis, so I was referred back to the CMHT again.

Eventually I had a phone-call triage assessment with the CMHT and they basically just told me yet again - ''From looking at your records I'm not sure how we can help you, so we may just have to close this referral and send you an information booklet with links/numbers to other places where you can seek help such as social prescribing, we'll post it to you, goodbye..''

So now I've been abandoned by the CMHT and forced to seek trauma therapy from outside of the NHS - via an independent charity organisation which my GP has referred me to - which sadly has a waiting list of over a year.

My experience with the cmht has been very unhelpful and they haven't felt very tolerant/understanding towards complex/sensitive needs patients like myself, it's been very upsetting.

I knew in my mind it must be happening with cmhts all over the UK.
It is disgusting, I am so angry!
You have a supportive gp, I dont they're as bad as cmht, but now you are seeking help outside the nhs.
If ok with you I will mention your experience to my transforming care people, and my mps office. They can view these posts as guests, I think, if they want to.
I'm angry at how our govt views people with mental health problems, then turns us over to people like cmhts!
    Something needs to be done.

Btw my transforming care people suggested social Prescribing. And social care.

I/we need support and therapy for our mh conditions, not all this rubbish they try to palm us off to!!

Thank you for your comment on this.

I had a bad experience with CMHT here in Wales as well, I put in a complaint and it was investigated by pals and whoever else looks into these things at the hospital I can't recall the name now, but after they "looked into it" they just agreed with CMHT and basically said I was lying. I was outraged and very upset.
Since then other agencies have tried to refer me back to CMHT but I won't have anything to do with them. Maybe when I move back to England next month I may find better mental health services.

    @JaneCowell

Please see in part my response to @Remina

If I can pass your comment onto my mps office also.
They do seem interested in getting to the bottom of this 'problem ' with cmhts.

Imho PALS wont help, as they are internal, within the nhs.  My experience anyway, I've complained to them about my gp too.

My own junk email folder automatically deletes items left in it after 10 days.

Might be worth checking if yours does that as well.

Mine automatically deletes after 30 days so sure I would have found it.

Ok so the email from cmht team manager. The copy mps office sent me was not a forwarded copy. Just the body of an email, the text, with my name and email address typed at the top. And the date typed at the top, Nov 8.
Have now received the PALS copy, which I was expecting to be a forwarded copy they received from cmht. No, it's exactly the same as mps office sent.
I've emailed PALS and asked to see the actual forwarded copy, if one exists.
I'm now pretty convinced cmht are lying.

I'm so sorry you've been put in this predicament @Bettahm, it's starting to sound like a very odd detective novel!  Hopefully things will become clear soon.

I've just emailed transforming care about this, waiting to hear what they might say.
I just think these cmhts are getting away with too much, all of them.

    Lot of emails received today.
Transforming care and the cmht team manager are having a meeting Tuesday to discuss me having telephone psychology sessions.
PALS have got hold of this info from somewhere and emailed to say they were closing their enquiry (the letter and email) and informing mps office!
And I have had two emails from the cmht manager sent from the same email address his nov 8 email was sent (allegedidly) the one that disappeared into thin air.
He sent me another 'copy' of it.
I emailed back asking for a copy of the original email to be forwarded from his computer.
Answer, Sorry it has been deleted due to patient protection once its uploaded to your file. This is a copy from your file.

Pretty convenient. What a cover up, and the enquiry closed!

So I've had two emails today from him, same address as Nov 8, received no problem. And I'm saying never received Nov 8. So I'm a liar. Which I'm not. He is.
Cant prove it, case has been closed by PALS.
Oh yes and I know I've never spoken to him on the phone as he alledges.
    Double liar.
I will maybe know more on Tuesday but dont trust this man.

@Bettahm I'm so sorry this situation has led you not to trust him. It's not ideal at all. Hopefully come Tuesday you will know more. Have you got someone who can be with you on Tuesday?

Tuesday is an online meeting just between him and my transforming care lady to discuss cmht taking me back for psychology only, phone sessions only.
Yes he has lied for sure or else I have and I have not.

Have just found some emails, going back through them all, with correspondence between me and mps office and then mps office and PALS back when I was still trying to get hold of my discharge letter.
PALS are wanting to set up contact between me and the cmht team manager so they can 'address my concerns '. I've said ok but contact by email only.
    Date on these emails is
    Nov 8
The day he reckons he sent me the email I failed to respond to.
But in this batch of emails there is one dated Nov 17 from me to mps office saying 10 days and I've still not heard from them (cmht)

There is definitely something underhand going on, I will pursue as making me look a liar at the very least.

There is definitely something underhand going on, I will pursue as making me look a liar at the very least.
So the chain of events that took place Nov 8 was mps office asking me if I was ok with manager contacting me to address my concerns, me saying ok as long as it's by email, then mps office having to contact PALS to inform them to tell manager ok as long as it's by email.
Then he allegedly sent me an email, all on the same day.
But on Nov 17 I emailed mps office to say still hadn't heard from manager (this is the important one).
Yesterday he managed to send me TWO emails, from the same address, both turned up in my primary email.......

I now have found out that once nhs transfer an email to your clinical record they do delete it from their computer.

But in this case, how convenient. I suspect the email never existed because they told PALS I had failed to respond to it, then passed on to mps office. Part of the reason they discharged me was failure to respond......

So they are making me out a liar or a lost cause, now publicly, involving mps office, and PALS are convinced enough to close the case.

I'm holding him accountable and want some justice here and have told my transforming care lady to please address all this on Tuesday.
