Please excuse my ignorance but what is asd level 1 I am getting conflicting info is this the former term aspergers?

Yes, that is what it was originally termed. The National Autistic Society has lots of information about the different levels which you may find helpful to read1 -
I like when I got diagnosed that they refused to put a label on it, just said I was autistic, and all autistic people are different, the labels can merge so you can be 1 with some 2 for instance, no 2 autistic people are the same they just have the same traits in varying degrees. The DSM is to assist the diagnostic people with a general diagnosis (which will, maybe unfortunately, place the person in one of those groups). Another label is the awful 'high functioning '.1
