Thanks both and yes I'm excited. It's going to be a very long 5 days as I currently don't have a vehicle0

Oh great news1

How exciting!! I remember when I ordered my first motability vehicle in 2016. I only waited 2 weeks from ordering to collection but that was a very long 2 weeks. 😂
There’s nothing quite like driving a new car and that new car smell.. mmm lovely!I’m sure you will enjoy the freedom. Not forgetting the ease of using an automatic compared to a manual.1 -
Been really lucky with this one as it was a cancelled order. When I went into the dealership I was told The Mokka is currently taking about 6 months to build and deliver but they were expecting one in at the end of January that a customer had cancelled but the dealership had kept the order going.
Not only was it the model I was after it was also in the colour I wanted too so I took it as a sign that destiny had intervened and said I'd take it.
Two weeks ago I emailed the garage only to be told that not only was there no build date yet showing for the car but the estimated delivery date had changed to mid Feb. I was ok with this as I know these dates can change and after all it was only two extra weeks.
Monday just gone I emailed the dealership again because if this car was going to be delivered middle of Feb I was expecting that the dealership should at least now have a build date and be more confidant of a firm delivery date.
Imagine my surprise when the salesman emailed me back to say not only had the car been built it had also arrived in the UK and was at the port. He then went on to say they were hoping to receive the car 'in the next week'.
Late yesterday afternoon the dealership rang me and as you all know the car is here and being picked up next Tuesday.
Overall I cant complain of the service i have received. Due to a combination of good fortune and being in the right place at the right time I am getting a car that should have taken at least 6 months to arrive in just over 7 weeks instead. Its been a great experience overall1 -
That's so exciting @BrettW, and great that you were able to get it quicker than you thought. Not long now!1

Went and grabbed a few sneaky pics of my car early this morning while the dealership was closed lol

Combine that with the automatic wipers and self adjusting automatic headlights and I'm having a really lazy driving experience :P:smile:1 -
Glad you're enjoying it! Sounds like a dream driving experience @BrettW!0

I am not technologically minded so I know it sounds daft but I wonder if the technology will overwhelm me. I didn't realise it had automatic wipers and headlights, does it serve dinner too? ha ha ha. I am so happy for you. How does it drive, is it smooth? x1 -
Yes @wkd its an extremely smooth ride. Doesn't do that jerky forward surging motion you used to get with a lot of the older type automatics.
Wouldn't even worry about the technology because if you've got a good salesman at the dealership he'll have already set everything up for you. Mine had even tuned in all the local radio stations for me.
Most of it is automated so you dont even have to worry about it as it will just activate itself when needed.
Only thing you'll need to get used to is the car telling you things. For example it double beeps to warn about upcoming speed cameras and it beeps if you exceed the speed limit by 3mph, etc.
I took it on the motorway last night to test out the adaptive cruise control and its absolutely brilliant. On the automatic it maintains the set speed and distance from the car in front and will even bring the car to a complete stop, hold it on the brake and then pull away again when the car in front moves away again all without you having to touch a single pedal. This only works on the automatic version though. On the manual it tells you to manually take over the controls once its slowed the car to below 18mph I think it is0 -

The salesman you had seems on it like a car bonnet. Excuse the pun! Mine only ordered the colour I wanted, well I wanted black or white but he convinced me they get dirty quickly or you can see the dirt more. I wasn't asked about trims or such, didn't even test drive as my licence had expired and they only had a basic model in stock.
Also, I have never used cruise control, although my husband does on his Rave 4 but that's in the USA. I watch him use and it always scares me that you don't have time to change it from cruising to manual. That's my anxiety though.
I am going to have refresher lessons and lessons to use an automatic car. I sent my driving licence off for the third time today and if it comes back to me a third time I will be making a complaint. They sent it back the first time as I didn't enclose a postal order for enough.
I had been advised by the post office it was free, but I thought I would send £14 it was not enough. It was £17. I sent them a £3 difference, then they sent it back again to say I needed to have a photo, although I had given them my passport details on the form. I thought at the time why couldn't you say that in the first letter you sent me and why do you need a photo when you can get it online from my passport? I know you didn't have a great experience with them either.
I was wishing today that I would get a phone call for a cancellation, I went out to collect a watch I had repaired and had to get a taxi, I haven't been out of my flat for over a month and when I was in the taxi I thought I wish I had my car to escape and go and see my relatives. I just have to be patient, only another 5 months to wait.1
