Hi, I was diagnosed with a Grade 1 prolapse 30th November and was referred to a clinic. After 9 weeks I hadn't heard anything so I called my surgery and to cut a long story short It seems I got 'lost' in the system. I have now managed get get an appointment to see a Gynaecologist on 21st April.. so approx 5 months later. Can I ask other ladies here what their symptoms are please? I am experiencing constipation and low backache and spotting. I have stopped my HRT just over a week ago to see if my HRT is causing the spotting or the prolapse. There is little to no information out there, so I'm hoping to get some info please. Many thanks.

Hi @Jenny17 - & welcome to the community. A prolapsed uterus is caused by weakness of the muscles & ligaments, etc. that support & keep your uterus in it's normal position.
As you have quite a wait until you see a gynacologist, I'd try & have a talk with your GP before stopping your HRT; I don't believe this will have caused a prolapse. Your GP may also be able to refer you to see a physio to see if pelvic floor exercises may be helpful.
In general, hoping to alleviate constipation, try to increase your water intake & include more fibre in your diet.

Thank you for your reply. I wanted to stop HRT to see what symptoms I still have (been on HRT for over 20 years) and to have a small break. My diet is pretty good plenty of fibre and no junk food. It's very hard to get an appointment with my GP. So I will have to wait. I'm doing kegel exercises.

Good to see you're doing everything possible to help. Sorry to read it's so difficult to get a GP appointment but pleased you already know about the the Kegel exercises, which will help.
