No, they haven't confirmed anything. As advised on your other thread, there's been many many threads here regarding this. Best thing to do with those newspaper articles is to stop reading them...
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

I agree with Poppy, the article is riddled with rubbish, tell me how do you think banks will "police" millions of accounts that benefits are paid into ? the answer is simple it will be almost impossible as there are literally millions of them.
I've said what I'm going to say here as this subject has been discussed time and time again on here.
My advice as ever "if you have done nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about"

I cannot find those dates or any update on the DWP website. So, I would say this is a clickbait article. I hope it hasn't caused you too much worry @unclebob

The reason they make it up is this.
These websites get paid depending how many people click on the story so they deliberately make false headlines so that people click on the article and read it.
It's false information that you are reading and I advise you to stop reading anything on the website that is giving you false information and causing you to be worried about something that hasn't happened yet

No not worried i have nothing to hide. But i don't think it's right that they can just get access to your bank.

I will say one more thing, if we want the benefits then we have to allow them to do what they think is best, having access to claimants bank accounts will I'm sure highlight many claimants who are exceeding the capital limits and save the system millions £ over time, we exceeded the limits about 5 years ago notified them immediately and lost around £200 a week in benefits, it was what it was.
