Hi, I recently received the April benefit increase letters but have noticed its now saying it's only from April to Nov, anybody know why this is and what happens in Nov?
Also it mentions my income related amount of X less £0.00 so you would of been entitled to x.
However because I'm entitled to contribution based ESA we will pay you x. - What does this mean as I only claim contribution ESA and not any means tested benefits?
Thanks

Sounds like another ESA letter that makes no sense. When it says entitlement until Nov, this is because your ESA is contributions based and you’re entitled to the Christmas bonus and the qualifying week for this is the first full week of December. Therefore during that week your ESA will increase by £10. After that it will decrease back to the usual amount. It doesn’t mean your ESA will stop at the end of Nov.Nothing at all to worry about.1

Ok thank you for putting my mind at rest as I was thinking it would stop in Nov, or that it was to do with the governments getting the sick back to work programme.
The way they word these letters is so confusing.
Anyway thanks again.0 -
No problem. ESA contributions based has always been worded that way where it says April to Nov.0
