Do I need to inform universal credit of a new diagnosis?

    Yes, but you need to submit a "fit" note.

    A fit note for what? I’m only informing them of a diagnosis

    In the thread linked above you said you gave a fit note due to your caring duties but a fit note will not be accepted for that. 

    If you want to you can report your health condition and provide fit notes for that. You will then be referred for a work capability assessment. 

    If you’ve already been through the work capability assessment then there’s no need to report a new diagnosis.
