Pip help

Hi Everyone.

I just came across this forum whilst googling some information on PIP. I have rheumatoid arthritis (diagnosed in 2012, but been in a mega flare since end of 2022) which has then caused potentially Fibro, or nervous system issues. I applied for PIP in October last year, and did the online form (they claimed they never received it etc. but after fighting this, they confirmed they did infact have the information etc.) and i had a phone assessment 4 weeks ago (it was meant to be face to face, but they changed it last minute).

I've heard nothing since, the person i spoke to did say 6-8 weeks, but i joined a fibro support group on facebook, and people are saying they are hearing within 1 week of having their assessment they have been successful. Does this mean it is going to be bad news for me, or should i be chasing them up, or just wait out the 6-8 weeks?

I work full time, as i have no choice and couldn't afford not to, so i feel like this is going to go against me. I applied for PIP as i was wanting it to fund private treatment such as physios, sports massages etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Once the assessment report is returned a decision can take up to about 12 weeks.

Yes, some have decisions within a couple of weeks, some several and others longer. It doesn’t mean anything other than no decision has been made yet. Each individual claim is different and everyone has different timescales.

There’s nothing more you can do but wait, once a decision is made you will be contacted.
