Hi all, just wanted to ask if I'm on my own, since the announcement of the reforms ,I'm unable to eat sleep or function, I'm petrified, I'm Agoraphobic also suffer with other MH conditions and fibromyalgia, my mind is constantly on the reforms, some say the Tories won't be in because of general election, some saying it will take ages to get the reforms in place,I don't know which one to believe. I know for sure I won't be able to survive without benefits ,so if this happens what will we all do ,I'm so scared ....

You're not alone in worrying and we're not alone in the fight. Many organisations are on the case about this and between the lines it doesn't look like the Labour Party will be doing the same as the Tories.
I hope you have someone to talk to, it's all my therapist has been helping me with these last couple of months which is such a waste of my healthcare!
On our side is the fact that these proposals are so nakedly brutal that they are wide open to legal challenges before they even get to the stage where they can implement them.

Hi Meg ,thank you , my MH support has been withdrawn unfortunately, was told in so many words "Unless u do something to harm yourself or anyone around you we can't help" No funds apparently, I do call the Samaritans from time to time ,when things get hard which has been a lot lately, Thank you for putting my mind at ease a little. When will they realise I don't need nobody telling me I'm worthless and a burden to society I already know! I hate the Tories....1

I know I’m getting stressed when I see articles .. fought so long to get pip had to go to tribunal and now feels like the rug is being taken away from my feet 🥲0

A lot of the time, articles are written in a way to get people to click on them.1

Not to mention articles written by a Conservative minister, or by the Tory press office. As a rule I steer clear of anything published in the Telegraph, Mail, Express, Times, and never will I ever watch GB News...
I tend to stick to the places we can get news safely like Benefitsandwork.co.uk and Mind, Disability Rights UK, and of course here.0 -
Hi @Sev68 You're definitely not alone in feeling stressed out about all this. It's not been an easy time at all. Scope have written an explanation and a response if you'd like to read about it. Nothing will be changing immediately and lots of disability charities and organisations including Scope will be working hard to make sure disabled peoples' voices are heard in response to the proposals. We'll keep everyone updated if we hear any more details.
Some of the news articles floating around can be quite upsetting at the moment, so please look after yourself and remember to step away if it's affecting you really badly. I hope things start feeling easier for you soon, and the community brings you some comfort0 -
problem is we are all worried that the money we get from pip we use to pay our bills and also survive I was looking at taking use of the mobility car part but this has put me off doing this as I don’t want to find I lose this and find out that I then have no transport at all the worry that they have placed on all of us who are disabled you are going to place 3.3 million people not being able to afford food
