Informing DVLA about mental health condition

So i got diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2018 i never planned on driving so did not tell the DVLA well now i want to drive i rang up just before and they said they are sending me a letter out what is this letter for anyone know will i get a medical ? it says they take blood i hate needles and will not get 1 what so ever wont even get covid jabs they said about the letter i know nothing about cause they didn't tell me over the phone and i didn't think to ask isnt returned in 14 days my license gets revoked

forgot to say i went to the doctors and they said i was stable that's why i want to drive again0

The letter is most likely to inform you that the DVLA are looking into your fitness to drive,they do contact your doctor so,if you’ve been stable for 12 months or more then they may say you’re fit to drive, However as in my case many years ago they did want blood tests and medical before they made a decision.if you drink SOP NOW as they test for that also I know from experience that at least six to eight weeks abstinence is needed before any blood tests.Good luck.1
