After getting a phone call from DWP asking more questions and going over the things that we didn't agree with we really thought that they were going to make an offer but unfortunately that's not the case .the bundle came yesterday so its going to tribunal .I'm so worried because we have stated that we will not be attending because of the sheer anxiety and overwhelming stress it would be . was just wondering if anyone else has had the same scenario as this and what was the outcome please . This is taking an unbelievable mental strain and anguish on me . any info or advice would be great thanks so much

You can ask for a telephone or video hearing, rather than appear in person. I would urge you to really consider either of those options because paper based hearings have a very very low success rate at only about 5-8%.

Telephone, video or in person have around 70% success rate.

You will need to contact them (HMCTS) by email. If you request a telephone hearing someone can be with you and you can put your phone onto loud speaker.

Hi poppy we will just have to take the chance and hope they see through the DWP incorrect things they have put about me and my mental health and many other problems I cannot do the tribunal by telephone its just to overwhelming and mentally to much for me. The thought of it is making me really ill. fingers crossed the ( HMCTS) will be kind and realize that the DWP are in the wrong by taking my pip off me in the first place 😥

That's such a shame because of the extremely low success rates with paper based hearings. Do you have someone that can be with you on the day of the hearing? I totally understand how stressful it must be but please do think carefully. If you do change your mind then you can contact HMCTS and just request the telephone hearing.

Just tell them that you've changed your mind and would like to have a telephone hearing instead. They are very understanding and will know how nervous and anxious you will be on the day. You're not alone in feeling this way as everyone feels exactly the same.
