Your experience in a mental health hospital

hi every one I’ll be keen to know what peoples experiences have been like in mental health hospitals . I have been in one so many times now I have had some good experiences but mainly bad . I find from my own personal experience is that the staff don’t care and they only do it for the money I find them to be so boring there’s nothing to do there’s no therapeutic activities either which I would find beneficial. I just find personally I go round and round in circles with my mental health

I’m sorry you went threw the same as me . I feel like it’s the same every where . The nurses and support workers don’t care they just speak down to you also and make you feel worst . I found that also that you only have the corridor to walk up and down . There should be more activities to do on the wards .

no I got discharged Friday because I came down with a nasty sickness bug I got on the ward . I had to stay in my room and staff had to come in all gloved and aprons on so they sent me home as they didn’t want there staff to catch it or for me to have to stay in my room for 72 hours . I just feel traumatised by my experience there the staff were so horrific towards me .

hi there it’s such a shame there’s not much help for mental illness . I’m just waiting on a call from my community nurse . All the help that’s out there for me seems to be more in the community because hospital is just bout medicating you . I’m already on medication quite a lot of it as well . I want so badly to be better but it’s hard to see an end to it all .

on 3 occasions there was no beds locally so I was sent out of area to private hospitals they were really good . You get the therapy and the activities in the private hospitals . Shame I can’t afford to go private . I’m starting dbt therapy soon . My nurse said she’s starting to run out of ideas to do for me which is upsetting . I’m still really traumatised from the hospital all I can do is let my complaint carry on and see where I get with

hi I’m not sure how long it’s for I’ll find out and let you know . I just want them investigated and held accountable for their bad care and treatment . I hope I never have to go there again I’m feeling very traumatised by my time there . I feel like the place needs closing down .

yes I have a ot they help me a lot I have a support worker as well . Because I was sectioned the cqc has taken my complaint and is going to investigate. They don’t seem to have a cqc rating I wonder why . It’s because of the way they treat people . It’s not right I’ll keep being the voice of the mentally I’ll because it’s not right how these places

Treat us . They hire horrible staff no therapeutic activities. No nice doctors .
