Hi there @Ruby112 and welcome to the community.
Congratulations on your PIP award, that must be a huge relief? It can sometimes take a few weeks for the DWP to process any backpay and to send out the letter, but please don't worry, they've not forgotten you!0 -
Hello Ruby112,
When you say "backpay" - I assume that you mean backdated claims - you will receive payment backdated to the date that DWP received your original application.

Thank you so much for replying and helping everyone. Yes I did mean backdated. It is a relief! Apologies for any spelling errors (I noticed, reading back x

I'd like to add I came across Scope forum whilst looking for PIP info, new to PIP and making a claim. I'd put off making a claim because I was worried I would lose LCRWA, a lovely woman at CAB gently suggested that I try anyway. I did and am awarded, not sure what components yet. So a big thankyou to all of you at the forum, you have kept me going, and still are! I may join you in your coffee shop!

That's not correct if it's a first time claim and you're not transferring from DLA. First time claims are awarded from the date you rang to start your claim, providing you had the difficulties for at least 3 months at that time.

Not had an experience with an appeal, but I received a text to say awarded PIP, letter within 2 weeks last Weds, I received the award letter today, Sat, backdated money going in bank Mon 29th. I would think you'd get money soon enough x

Anything up to 8 weeks after a Tribunal win for the award to be put into payment and for them to pay what is owed.

Hi, could anyone help with this. I have been awarded Daily Living Standard at £68.10 per week. Shouldn't it be £72.65? Thanks
0 -
That was last years rate so if it was backdated then it will show that figure from the start of the claim. You should get the current rate when you're actually paid though.

Ahh. I am backdated fron 26th March '24. Thats nearly April? Gosh, it's stressful! Thank you a lot for your help x

Just looked at backdated pay amount. Makes sense with this year's rate and last years rate adjust. Thank you again!
