It's a benefit payment. What benefits are you claiming exactly please? and have you recently had an assessment for ESA/UC or PIP?

hi. I have just had a change of circumstances application from DLA which forced a move to PIP.
they have moved me to PIp with an increase in Care from lower to enhanced but said it will be paid from September.

I wouldn't expect there to be anything owed for the PIP due to transferring from DLA. Is the payment the same as what your DLA is? Are you claiming any other benefits?

Now you've been awarded Enhanced daily living PIP you will be entitled to Enhanced disability premium which is £20.85/week (single person) or £29.75/couples. However, I wouldn't expect you to be entitled to that until your PIP award actually starts.

I'd advise you to ring Income Support to ask what it's for and they will tell you.

Are you claiming Income Support with a partner or as a single person? or do you live with other adults. If so, do they claim a qualifying disability benefit their self such as PIP daily living or DLA mid/high rate care or are they registered blind?

Sorry for all the questions but I like to make sure I give all the correct advice and to make sure you're claiming everything you're entitled to.

so my husband is on state pension.
our 2 surviving adult children are both on pip.
one claims ESA the other UC.
so the Income support is just for me.
I’ve just noticed that today my IS is the same figure as the manual payment and that the two together are £50 more than the usual IS fortnightly payment.

Heya @GrievingMum and welcome to the community. :)

I can see Poppy is already helping you out and I don't want to intrude, I just wanted to stop in and say a quick hello. I hope you can get to the bottom of that random payment!

Your Income Support will not be just for you because you live with a partner and it’s a means tested benefit. They will be named on your claim and their state pension should be taken into consideration when working out entitlement to Income Support.

It seems like it’s a manual payment for your IS but the EDP is included but I would expect it to be included until your PIP award starts. You will need to ring IS to ask them.

You won’t be entitled to Severe Disability Premium unless all adults claim the qualifying disability benefit.
