UC and 17 yr old with EHCP

Hello my son is 17 and has complex needs. He is not in education because the LA has not yet provided him with suitable provision for the coming year. (He has EHCP).
As I have to care for him full time UC is our only income. UC has written to me to say UC will stop if he's not in full time provision by September.
Any idea what can I do? Thank you.

Yes, money for your son will end if he doesn't return to full time education. If he does return then you'll be able to report the changes to UC and the elements will then be included again for him.
If he doesn't return then he'll be able to claim UC in his own right.

Hi @dwill, sorry to hear you're in a difficult situation with your UC. It looks like Poppy has answered your questions but I just wanted to say hello and welcome you to the community. I hope you can get everything with your son sorted soon 😊
