Social services complaints Wales

hi all
Newbie Here. I am really struggling at the moment with my mental health. I need advice if anyone knows about social services complaints in Wales
I won’t go into too much detail I was receiving support for myself from social services no children involved just me. They closed my file unfairly last year with no warning at all.
I put in a complaint at stage 1 a few months ago however they are very slow at responding. I was told I would receive a response last week it’s not happened now I’m being told it with the complaints and FOI manager I’m not sure what the procedure is I thought it was just the complaints officer that dealt with it not the manager?
I would appreciate if someone could explain the process to me please. I feel as though they are trying to cover their backs as much as possible which is making me upset.
thank you

Hi @hello33, first of all welcome to our community 😊 I'm sorry to hear you had a really awful experience with social care. I don't know if this helps but I looked up what the Care Quality Commission has to say about social care and complaints.
Complain about an adult social care service - Care Quality Commission (cqc.org.uk)
I am unsure if this fits exactly with the service you were using, but it does explicitly state they should have a complaints procedure that they can show you. Though, if you take your complaint further it seems it is the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman who investigates individual complaints.
How we can help - Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman
Have you tried contacting that ombudsman? While they may ask to wait for an outcome of your complaint before investigating, they should be able to inform you what you should expect to be happening.

hi thanks for your response this information applies to England only. I live in Wales. It’s not at the ombudsman stage at present. They would just tell me that I need to go through the stages first before it reaches them.
