Mobility Car Order
Hi,
I ordered my mobility car at the start of July and was told by dealership that the car wouldn’t be ready until October, which was perfect, because it would give me time to get the money together for the advance payment, I was also told that it’d be a 74 plate.
Anyway there’s been a lot of news about delays for deliveries of new cars, I received a couple of emails to let me know that there is delays on new cars, it is what is, it’s not a problem. I checked the main dealership online and it said that there is a wait of 7 months for the car that I ordered. Low and behold I received a phone call 2 weeks ago saying that my car is ready to pick up (5 weeks after ordering the car)I told the dealership that I won’t have the money till October as agreed, so now I’ll be picking up a 24 plate when it was agreed that I would get a 74 plate. my concern is that the car is from another dealership that couldn’t be sold and that they want to offload it on me, then take the one I ordered and put that up for sale in their showroom, because it’ll be a 74 plate.
I don’t want to sound ungrateful or petty, but the end of the day I’m still paying for the lease of the car, through my PIP payments and if we agreed the car for October then it should be October.
I thought I’d ask for a bit of advice before speaking to the dealership.
Thank you in advance

To me personally it doesn't matter what the plate is or what they might do with the car I originally ordered. If it's the same model of car you asked for then I would be extremely happy that I'm getting it early. I had to wait 9 months for mine and I told them if another car that's the same model but a different colour becomes available sooner I will have it.

When they tell you how long it will be, this is just a guide. Sometimes it can be less and sometimes longer. If it hasn't been registered yet then ask for it to be done from 1st September and then it will be a 74 plate.
Is it the same spec and colour you wanted?

Are you sure that it is the latest version of the latest model ?
rather than old stock ?
You can check the month that it was produced by putting the reg number in to
If it shows that it was assembled last year or more than say 6 months ago - I would have to think about the order….
