LCWRA is part of Universal Credit. (UC) If it’s this you’re claiming then claiming carers allowance at the same time as UC means no financial gain because it’s just deducted in full.
Carers premium doesn’t exist for UC. Instead it’s known as carers element. The same person can’t receive both LCWRA and carers element at the same time. In this case only the higher element is paid, which is LCWRA.0 -
Hiya @Ellie18 and welcome to the community.
I can see Poppy is already helping you out with your query, but I just wanted to pop in and say a quick hello. 😊

I’m waiting to be paid from universal credit at the moment but unfit to work at the moment so only on carers at the moment but the lady at the job centre said I can apply the the unfit for work benefit which is £400 per month so would I be any better off ? Xx

For this you will need to report your health condition by reporting a change of circumstances. You will then need to provide a fit note within 7 days of that and continue to provide them without any gaps until a decision is made on your work capability assessment.
You will be referred for the work capability assessment usually from day 29 after providing your first fit note. Once this is done you’ll receive a letter on your journal and then a few days later you will receive the UC50 form in the post. You will need to fill that in and return it with all your supporting evidence.

send off the letter and a fit note xx

Sorry, what letter did you send off? or do you mean you returned the UC50 form? A fit note isn't evidence that you have LCWRA. Fit notes are only needed for your UC claim itself and not for the work capability assessment evidence.
Did you provide any other supporting evidence? They very rarely contact anyone for any evidence.

Most assessments are by telephone so if one is needed and they ask for a face to face you can contact the Health Assessment Advisory Service and change it.

Best of luck with your assessment @Ellie18! I hope you are able to ask and schedule in a telephone assessment soon. Remember, you can request it be recorded, you must do this beforehand though. You can also have someone there with you, to help remind you or prompt you, as well as to support you.
How are you feeling about a telephone assessment?
