Hi guys.

Been on uc 3 months. I have put my first sick note in last week. It's a 4 week note. I know I should of done this earlier as I'm really not ready for work. My issue is my work coach keeps booking me in for interviews, for jobs I'm not interested in. So obviously the sick note is being ignored.

When claiming UC you are treated as a job seeker until a decision is made on your work capability assessment. A work coach has discretion to either turn off or reduce commitments, some do and others don't.

If you're unable to attend in person for the appointments you can ask for a reasonable adjustment for a telephone appointment.

You also need to make sure you continue to provide fit notes without any gaps until a decision is made on the work capability assessment. If there's any gaps it will affect when the extra money is paid from if you're found to have LCWRA.

For your next fit note I'd advise asking them for a longer one because the decision can take quite a few months.

Thank you Poppy. My work coach is driven by getting me a job, which is fair it's his job. But I'm just not capable. I Wil try and get a longer note. Have a good day.

Just to add. I got the appointment changed to a phone call. He said next week we need you to come in to speak to the health assessment team. Is that correct?. Do I not just ask for the 150 form to fill in?.

The assessment providers have recently changed, literally within the last couple of weeks.

You can use this link to find your new assessment provider. Only a small number will be carried out by DWP now but that maybe correct for your post code.
