HI I have been awarded amount is not included as the relevant period of 3 months expired on 24 August, which is 3 months after the date you supplied the fit note. The additional amount is therefore included in the next assessment period which in your claim is 31 August to 30 September, payment date 06 October. This is standard policy regarding this award they said they will not pay the back date from 24 may to 24 Aug why is that

Have you been awarded LCWRA under UC?

In which case the reply you got seems correct, there is a 3 month waiting period for LCWRA, during which no money is paid.

It will be in payment from month 4 and no backpay will be owed, because nothing is paid during the waiting period.

So I will not get paid for the sick note that I handed it for 3 months waiting

Correct, as there is a 3 month waiting period before you can be paid the LCWRA element.

Thanks for clarifying that @amanmussa as Kimmy has rightly said, there's a 3 month period without pay for LCWRA after you are awarded it, with payment happening from the 4th payment cycle after you handed in your first fit note.

There is no backpay I'm afraid for those three months. But you will start receiving the LCWRA element on your UC payments from the 4th payment cycle onwards.

he LCWRA element is awarded after a three-month waiting period starting from the day medical evidence is provided. If the Work Capability Assessment takes longer than three months, the element will be backdated to this point and any amount owed will be paid.

In 2024/25, the LCWRA payment is £416.19 per month. If a couple makes a joint claim, only one of them needs to have LCWRA to receive this so why does it say this

People also askHow much is LCWRA backdated?Your LCWRA should be backdated to the 14th week of your assessment period. Your assessment period starts when you hand in your fit note, the assessment period lasts for 13 weeks, during this 13 week period you will not receive LCWRA unless you are classed as terminally ill.9

Apologies @amanmussa that information is from 2022, I believe the new rules are no payments for the three months of waiting, unless the DWP have specifically told you that backpay is owed.

No backpay will be owed, due to it not being paid at all during the waiting period.

On the 4th month, you will get one month of LCWRA in your award, and the same every month after that.
