UC APPEAL date
hello all, I have been waiting 7 months and finally my UC appeal letter has come telling me I am booked in for a date in October.
my lovely family have booked us a holiday and it is at the exact same time!!
Will they be ok with me changing it? Will this go againts me?
I’m so paranoid. I don’t know what to expect. What to do, what happens at a uc appeal.
for background I am appealing againts they saying I need to start looking for work. Although my work coach does not agree nor does my doctors.
I have a huge file from them none of which makes any sense and this decision was based on a telephone call where a man compleatly mis interpreted what I said during my review. Everything I said he wrote the opposite.
I have been waiting for this for such a long time.
I am now freaking out about having to change the date
Any help appreciated.

Yes you can change the date but just bear in mind it may be a while before you are assigned another date. It would be wise when you contact the tribunal service to give them any dates for the next few months when you know you won't be able to attend.

No it won't. However I don't know how many times you can change it.

I only plan on asking for the once. So should not be a problem. Thank you very much.
also do you have any idea where I can get help from regarding my appeal. I’m terrified. I went through a work tribunal once which went on for years and made me very sick. Some suppport would be amazing thank you0 -
I don't know if it's the same for UC but usually the DWP will only let you change it once outside of extreme circumstances. So I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to re-arrange this appointment.
Have you tried reaching out to your local Citizen's Advice @Dan88? They should be able to help you with an adviser, or at least point you in the direction of one.

hello, yes I have tried them and they never have any availability. Nor do they let me book an appointment. All they said were charities who are no longer taking on anyone due to backlog
