Hi, my name is sara1982! Can I get my student loans written off?
My name is sara, aged 42.
I went to University in late 2000.
I am a mother of two (aged 6 and 7 months old) and I am also deaf.
I am saddened to accept that I will never get a promotion due to my communication problems. As much I want to have a promotion and this will help me to repay my student loans easily. However, this student loans I took in late 2000 has crippled me as I had not been repaying within the last 5 years and feared the interest rate will cripple me as I only work part time. I feel like Im begin punished as a part timer and disabled. Is there way that I get student loans to be written off and how?

Hi @sara1982, welcome to the community. Sorry to hear you're struggling with your student loans.
Was your student loan with the government or someone else? If it was a government loan, most student loans taken out after 2006 are automatically written off after 25 years, but I can imagine that isn't much comfort at the moment.
Are you finding the repayments are too difficult, or are you worried about paying back the whole loan with all the interest?
