illness retirement
Hi, I am diagnosed with Psychosis since 2011 and battling with sick leave for around 1 year. I am with LGPS.
Recently, informal advise from OHP suggests verbally Tier 1 illness retirement to me. He put informal advise for illness retirement to the report to my employer. Now my employer has submitted a formal application for the certification. I wonder how likely the same suggestion will be the result and hopefully they won't reverse the decision.
My mental health means I am really anxious and can't stop thinking about it.

Hey there @mizuno and welcome to the community. 😊
I'm afraid I'm not great with ill health retirement rules so I'd be unable to answer with any certainty. But hopefully by me saying hi, it'll pop your discussion to the top of the page, so more people in the know will be able to see it and hopefully give you some top advice.

Hi @mizuno. I can completely understand your worries. I hope the doctor will come to the same conclusion as the OHP. Assessments can take between 4-12 weeks depending on your circumstances and hopefully yours will be on the shorter end of that scale. Do you have any mental health support at the moment?
Here's some information that may be of use: Ill Health Retirement.
