New ESA claim

I recently started a new claim for CB ESA and today received an ESA50 form to complete. How long is it currently taking after sending this off to get an assessment date?

Are the assessments usually done over the phone?

    The whole process could take several months. Yes, most assessments are by telephone. Some are also face to face. If an assessment is needed and it's face to face, if you prefer telephone you can ring to ask them to change it.

    Thanks Poppy, I tried to call them today as my form and return envelope arrived damaged due to the rain, and wanted to request another one.

    I gave up after 90 mins of being on hold.

    You can use the one that's available online but you'll need to print it off. You can actually type your answers onto this one before you print it.

    Please be aware of the date it needs to be returned by because there's no extended time to return it.
