Hey guys,
This is quite a long one, so i do apologise for that in advance xI wonder if any of you have had traumatic and highly stressful experiences with Housing Associations? I am registered disabled, autistic, suffer with anxiety, depression, hypertension, epilepsy, asthma, osteoarthritis knees, feet, hands, bilateral flat foot deformity (no arches, feet roll inwards) left foot is worse causing the knee to bow inwards ,stress fracture in ankle) both achillies tendons so tight ready to snap, lower back bottom of spine sciatica and top spine c5/c6 nerve decompression done last year wasn’t successful i have weakness in right hand, pins and needles both legs and arms. I receive lower rate pip daily living and mobility even though i know i am probably entitled to more financial help by claim reviewed ,informing them about changes to conditions but too scared in case they take it away as i had to go via tribunal and was turned down then i appealed.
i have two sons 15 and 12 oldest is ASD and youngest is being assessed for ADHD tomorrow finally after 2 years on waiting list. They both have eczema and oldest is asthmatic.
My home has had mould ,damp, condensation windows need replacing, rotten mastic, cracks in exterior/interior walls, front door needs replacing not fitted properly and no draught proof, leakfrom roof, pipe outside house leak from pipe near water meter which is causing water leak back into toilet wall causing mould damp skirting, non working ventilation system main box in loft not maintained therefore vents in bedrooms, bathroom living room and kitchen no where for condensation to go, bathroom an kitchen have no windows. Wet patches appear on ceilings and walls when heavy rain comes, 5 years they have done nothing accept they only sent their surveyor out to my house after i got a solicitor involved last February and then with more pressure from solicitors they finally sent NHG surveyor on 16th may 2023, he did a report listing jobs to be done and nothing, and on Thursday 23rd May 2024 i woke up to my whole house with damp patches on every ceiling, plaster boards, mould spores on everything, carpet damp, my bed damp, clothes shoes everything. I called My housing officer crying asking for help, he kept repeating that i have a legal team and he can’t get involved. At this point the legal team from last year were no longer involved as i no longer needed his help and he assumed job done. I said as my h/o can’t you just come and look so you can see? He said I can’t, it’s above my pay grade and laughed, i said you have a duty of care, he then said well i tried making 2 appointments with you last year and you failed to do this. Which wasn’t true and that the annual tenancy check was done by his colleague who was new and randomly turned and introduced herself and did annual check. He responded with its above my pay grade and im sick of this and put the phone down me!! I was left to pack my belongings as fast as i could due to spores forming on my stuff, no food, no water, no bed nothing. I paid for removals on credit cards, find places for my two children to stay. I collapsed outside my home on the friday 24th may 2024 due to 3 back to back seizures! when paramedics arrived because i was a little slow, and slurring words they asked my neighbour if i had taken drugs/alcohol she said no and told them about my home. They took me by ambulance in my pjs and slides the only clothes left as everything damp, into a&e, left me on a bed parked up near nurses station, a nurse viciously took my blood and didn’t talk to me or ask me anything and left there for a few hours then took me to a room and left again for hours, obs nurse came twice and then 2 different nurses at different times asked me what happened told them, they responded with do you hear voices, suffer any delusions, suicidal i said no, im here because of seizures, left again for hours must be about 12midnight/1am, asked same questions, i then put slides on proceeded to leave got to the door and asked nurse at desk to open, they had called security, 3 large men came running towards me, tried grabbing me so I backed away in the corner and asked them not to touch me and one said you are being detained under the mental health act, we have a signed document, I asked what are you talking, can I see the document who signed it? i was dragged back to the room, my left foot buckled under me and was screaming in pain and crying in shock, i screamed loud why are you doing this to me, no one telling me anything i was thrown back in the room, guarded by one guy inside the room by door and 4 outside, i couldn’t believe this was happening, i had a panic attack and was hyperventilating and i was told by a member of staff “why don’t you shut up” they were sectioning because they said there is no mould in your home and orange mould doesn’t exist, we believe you have had a psychotic break! They called social services as they believed my kids were missing, I couldn’t prove anything as i didn’t my phone. my phone was left by the paramedics in my house, my kids and friends were calling and panicking because they couldn’t reach me. Next day my mother came from London as i needed to be assessed by 2 psychiatrists and social worker and she got me out.I wouldn’t of been able to leave, . I am traumatised and no longer trust the NHS, a piece of me has gone, I am psychologically damaged, i lost my home and my freedom in 2 days.
I have reports done privately from a mould specialist confirming high levels of various toxic moulds in my home, i am allergic to pencillin, my lips swell, burnt lips, skin, asthma exacerbated and my skin rashes, burning skin. Aspect regarding leaks and moisture, doctors letters, social worker letter who had witnessed mould in my home, chartered surveyor report and 2 contradictory NHG reports done by same surveyor 16th May 2023 and 12th June 2024. They have told so many lies on me, and are getting away with damage to all of our mental health, damaged possessions some sentimental items all furnishings, my savings gone, credit debts and being away from two children.
i feel so alone! I feel bullied and feel like no one in the world is strong to go up against them as they are one of the largest H/A.
we have not lived as a family in our home since 23rd May 2024 damage to the property getting worse everyday, i have lost so much in my home. My kids mattresses are black and they are saying my home is liveable!
They keep telling lies on me, saying i have refused access to property, i was shouting, verbally abusive on phone to h/o this is not true (I recorded the call)
I have tried citizens advice, the council, environmental health, doctors, raised stage 1 complaint with NHG and got reply about shouting an swearing, asked for it to be escalated stage 2 he said he isn’t doing that and refuses to answer anything in writing via email to me, Housing ombudsman have been contacted by myself and still waiting, in mean time i have to sofa surf in london away from my kids can’t afford hotels anymore
Any advice would be greatly appreciated xx

Hi @AshDizzle, I'm so sorry to read what you went through at hospital and with your housing, it sounds awful. I've popped your post into our housing section where more members with the right experience can find it.
Have you had any contact with your MP? I wonder whether they'd be able to offer you some support and get your housing situation looked at in some more detail. If the council haven't been helpful, then escalating it to your MP might be worth a go.
Contact your MP - UK Parliament
Hope you can get things sorted soon.

dear @Rosie_Scope thank you for your message, support and suggestions. Before all of this happened i had no idea what people had to go through with housing association’s, the lies, the bullying, the shame, depression, anxiety all caused by people who are supposed to be there for you. I will be contacting my MP this week. Thanks for reaching out xx
