Help please this makes no sense

So had my first payment notice on universal journal since becoming single. I have been awarded what I expected along with lcwra. But they have taken over £500 off me saying this is because I get incapacity benefit. I have never ever received incapacity benefit ever. I am so confused why this is happening I have called and left notes on journal but they say can be days before a response to it. How could they even say this when it's never been the case? Please can someone advise having a complete meltdown over this.

It's been more than 10 years since Incapacity benefit existed. Those that were claiming this were migrated to ESA.
Are you claiming ESA as well as UC? This is known as a dual claim and the ESA will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement.

No I have only ever had universal credit and lcwra that's it. On my journal it states money being taken off as I get incapacity benefit not even a mention of esa.

How strange! Put a message onto your journal under the payment section and tell them that you do not claim Incapacity benefit. To be honest I don't know if anyone still claims that now because it ended more than 10 years ago, I believe.

All sorted I had put note on journal it updated and got a call from UC apologising as it was an error in the system during change from joint to single. Not sure how it happened but its fixed and back to normal now. Thank you 😊
