UNIVERSAL CREDIT - Payments, Housing Benefit

Hello I applied for universal credit on Saturday 5th bit confused with payments. will my payments be paid on a Saturday if so when wil I receive first payment. Also when will I start getting housing benefit. I have been asked to submit fit note. Then they will give me a UC50 form. I am on personal independent payments I have long term illnesses. Any advice would be grateful thanks.

If it was the 5th October that you submitted your claim then your assessment periods will be 5th to 4th of every month and payment date will be 11th of every month. Unless payment date falls on a weekend or a bank holiday and then you'll receive payment on the last working day before. Your first payment (if entitled) will be 11th November.

You will receive your statement once your assessment period has ended, so likely around 5th November. On there it will tell you the elements you're entitled to, any deductions and what is due to paid into your bank. (if there's entitlement)

Your UC will include help with the rent known as housing element, unless you're either living in supported or temporary housing and then you'll need to claim housing benefit from your local Authority.

I see from a previous thread that you were claiming UC in the past but that ended due to capital being over £16,000 so they may also ask for bank statements.
