Hi,
I was looking On to the government website the other it not clear when people move from ESA IR, SDP and DP to Universal credit I did actually claim IB in 2003 10 years later I actually went onto ESA on the old style for a few years then went onto IR but I am in the Support group I got 2 premiums SDP and.DP I am On PIP but I would like to ask will I get onto universal credit in 2025 or will I have to wait til 2028\29 or would I have to stay on to ESA?
Thanks

The migration timeframe for those claiming Income Related ESA has changed from 2028/29 to anytime from now up until December 2025.
Once you receive your migration letter you will have 3 months to claim UC. Once you submit your claim your Income Related ESA will continue for 2 weeks and then stop.
If any part of your ESA is contributions based (quite possible because you were previously claiming IB) then that part will continue but be reverted to New style ESA. The ESA will then be deducted in full from any UC entitlement.
