Do Say Hello . . Any Neurodiverse folks out there with Personal Budgets or trying to access one ?

Please share any advice, tips or recommendations of any organisations that have been helpful to you along the way, maybe advocacy, care planning or finally providing support?

As I am feeling very lost and alone with all this and figure I cannot possibly be the only one . . .

I am a 44 AUDHD (late diagnosed obvs) gal living in Walthamstow.

Unbelievably I have managed to secure a Personal Budget but cannot use it right now as I can’t afford the client contribution. Every month since Feb this year the council has paid their contribution into my Direct Payment account and the  balance is now £1846.59. It's so frustrating.

In May I asked for advocacy to help me appeal the financial contribution and resubmit my financial assessment and to support me to navigate the system as I am struggling.

  • If anyone has had a similar experience to me or any advice do share?

    Hi @Kimmeka

I am sorry to hear that you have not been able to access you personal budget.

The Disability Rights personal budget helpline might be able to give you some answers, or at least guide you to someone who can give you personal support. You can either click on the link above or call them on 0330 995 0404.

Take care and I hope you get the answers you need soon.
