hi im new here and was wondering if someone could give me some advice please.im am currently migrating from esa support group to universal credit.i today had a message on my journal to accept my claimment conditions.since it now says under your work search and commitments in work plan i am not required to look for or apply for jobs at this time.my work coach will tell me if this changes.is this the wording that everybody gets on they're journal that has lcwra?in my commitments it says i'll attend and take part fully with meetings with my work coach .i'll tell my work coach immediatly if i can't do this.and the only other thing in my commitment is to log into my online journal and report changes in my health.is this the wording on everyone's journal as where it says my work coach will tell me if this changes is concerning me.

No, that's not what your commitments should say. The reason it says this is because they don't yet know or had contact from ESA that you're in the Support Group.

If you haven't already, please put a message onto your journal to tell them you're in the Support Group. You maybe asked for a fit note but please do not provide this because you don't need to do that.

It will likely take a couple of weeks for ESA to send your details across to UC. Once this is done your claim will be updated and you'll be asked to agree to new commitments. Those commitments will be asking you to report all changes and log into your journal to check it regularly.

Your UC will include the LCWRA element from the start of your claim.

thanks poppy for the reply.i have put on my journal that i am in the esa support group and they replyed back saying as im in the support group i won't have to provide fit notes or look for work,this was on tuesday but today i missed a call from them so they put a message on my journal to accept commitments.they also set up an appointment in the job centre for 12pm which they immediatly cancelled as this message was at 11.20 today.i really don't know whats going on.

It sounds like there's just some crossed wires within the DWP there, if the meeting has been cancelled, that'll just be them realising you're in the support group, the call was probably just them wanting to run you through your commitments, so I'd not worry too much about that. Your commitments will probably just be something like "Reply to messages in your UC journal"

hi all and thanks for the help.it does seem to be crossed wires in the dwp.when i first put in claim on tueseday i also put on my journal that i was migrating from esa support group,within 5 minutes i had an appointment booked for next week from an agent so i messaged in my jornal asking why i have to do this as i was esa support group.within a few hours the appointment was cancelled and i had a message from a member of staff saying i don't have any conditionality and i don't have to report fit notes.then yesterday i missed a call and had a voicemail asking for me to go onto my journal and accept the commitments which don't appear to be the right commitments.i also noticed that an agent had put in my journal for an appointment at the job centre tommorow which was cancelled immediatly.i have since asked on my journal that im concerned as to whether ive agreed to the wrong commitments and this will cost me my lcwra of uc.

You won't lose the LCWRA element, you're still entitled to that. You just need to wait for ESA to send your details across to UC. It's not unusual for this to take up to a few weeks. Once it's done you'll be asked to agree to new commitments.

i had to agree to a new commitment today so under jobs its says i am not required to look for or apply for jobs at this time .i will be told if this changes.activites it says i do not have any work related activities i have to do at this time.i will be told if this changes.my commitments say i'll sign into my account often to complete all activities in my to do list.report changes to my circumstances promptly including changes to work.is this the right commitment for lcwra claiments?i also had a request to send in a fit note.this is what the meesage says for fit note.

When you applied for Universal Credit we told you that you did not need to provide a fit note.

We have since found that you have not yet had a Work Capability Assessment outcome for your health condition.

A Work Capability Assessment is something we refer you for when you have an ongoing health condition that

restricts your ability to work. this is clearly wrong as i am in the support group of esa.does this mean i am being reassessed?and if so do i have to provide a fit note?this fit note request isn't showing on my to do list so could be on my journal in error.

That's the right commitments for LCWRA. You do not need to provide any fit notes. Did you receive that message before your commitments changed?

yes i think so.my to do list is empty so if they wanted a fit note it would be on to do list would'nt it?i have left a message on my journal telling them im in the esa support group.the message for the fit note wasn't sent by anyone in particular as there was no name opposite it.

It makes sense that it was sent before your commitments changed. It just means they haven't cancelled that request. Yes, you would see it on your to do list. No fit note is needed and you can ignore that.

i just had a letter from esa saying my contribution esa will be 138.20 per week .you are not getting any more income related esa.we cannot pay you because you have a claiim to universal credit.on the back it says:

your living expences 0.00

limited capability for work edition

extra money because you are in the support group 47.70

income and benefits

no income will be taken off your employment and support allowance

your income related amount is 47.70 less 0.00 so you would have been entitled to 47.70

however because you are entitled t contribution based esa we will pay you 138.20

the amounts on this page apply from 5th november to 29th november 2024.

i did'nt know i was contribution and income related esa so what does this mean?will i still get the same or more than i was getting?also should i be worried that pip was'nt mentioned on the letter as usually in my payment breakdown on my esa letters pip is mentioned.i have recently beeen reviewed for pip and been given it till 2028.

I did'nt know i was on income and contribution esa.does this mean i will get less or more than i currently do for esa?also should i be worried that in the payments breakdown my pip was'nt mentioned which it usually is.i have recently been given another 4 years pip after my review.

This means that part part of your ESA was Contributions Based.

It now has converted automatically into New Style ESA, and will be paid separately from UC, fortnightly at a rate of £276.40.

This will be deducted in full (598.68) from each UC payment.

As UC is a monthly benefit and ESA weekly, the numbers may initially look wrong, but are in fact right.

Your ESA will be ongoing, the November date relates to the £10 Christmas bonus payment.

There are no disability premiums in NS ESA, so it is correct that your breakdown didn't mention PIP.

hi all i wonder if anyone can advise me please.ive just had a letter from dwp saying my contribution esa is going over to new style esa and i have to attend a meeting with a work coach and explain my disability and provide medical evidence and also have to accept a new claiments commitments.surely this should not be happening as im in the esa support group.

Hi,

That's just a standard letter and confuses a lot of people. You will still need to accept your Claimant Commitments, but there is no need to prove your limited work status again.

ive already accepted my lcwra commitments so i don't understand why they have said someone will be in touch to set up an appointment with a work coach which i have to attend and provide details of my illness or disability and accept new commitment or they will close my claim.

New Style ESA is separate from UC so you do need to accept commitments for both of them individually.

This is totally normal for claimants in your position, who had partly contributions based ESA before.
