Seeking Support for Mental Health and Housing Stability
Hi everyone
I have been waiting for a knee replacement operation for over 12 months but due to NHS waiting times I am still waiting but the school I work for have let me go on ill health grounds while I have been off my dippresion went through the roof and so much to say I was put on 48 hour suicide watch I kept intouch with the school on a regular basis and the day I had my MRI scan results and was told I would be put on the operation list I thought owe that's good when I got outside I let my boss know and two days later I had a letter giving us 4 days to vacate the property which we were living in this made my mental health worse I called my union representative who came into the meeting and she said the best thing that can happen is an agreement between both parties and that way you walk away with something The school said that they took my disability into account at every stage but I felt let down after 7 years working there my dippresion tablts have gone from 50mg to 100mg the stress that they put on me even when they told me we had 4 days to get out and my partner was going into work and I had to pack with a bad knee so my partner had to take time off they did not care they offered no help at all apart from using a school trollie and the wheel fell off in the first 10 minutes We owned our own house and we rented it out to my son his partner and two boys 7 and 4 I did tell the school that we had nowhere to go as we had tenants and we could not just throw them out we had to live with my partners mother for 5 weeks and then rent a place in sumerset for two weeks if we had kicked them out they would have had to all go into temporary accommodation all this was weighing down on me and I wanted to end my life things are still not good but my union said that they have done things by the book and that I can not take them to court My life is a mess christmas coming and not looking forward to it one bit I am 62 and this year has to be the worst on record any comments welcome thank you for listening

Hi and welcome to the community.
Very sorry to hear of your situation and the difficulties you are facing.
Did you manage to get early ill health retirement from your job?
I would recommend that you join the 'mental health' thread as it is extremely supportive.
