Universal credit
hello I’ve just had a message requesting ID and 4 months bank statement I just stress a bit and wasn’t expecting this . Any advice would be appreciated Thankyou.

UC are doing millions of these checks at random.
I had one last September and lots of other members here have had one.
The process is submit the information they ask for.
Then you will have a telephone interview.
You'll be asked a series of scripted questions about other potential sources of money.
Then questions about some of your banking transactions, which might not appear to make any sense.
I myself (as capital was over £6k on paper) was then asked to submit individual bank statement pages showing my CoL payments.
Then I had a journal message saying my review was complete and my payments were correct.

Hey @chrys, welcome to the community! As Kimmy says these checks are being done at random, they don't make this clear at all so I understand the extra anxiety and stress around it. I mean, even random it's still a stressful thing to do.

When you submit the 4 months of bank statements you may want to check if there are any transactions that isn't immediately understandable to someone who doesn't know you. As they may ask about them as Kimmy mentions.
