UC is a benefit made up of various elements, so individual awards will vary depending on entitlement.

Housing benefit will stop, and be paid within UC (Housing Element).

After you claim UC, you'll get two weeks ESA & HB (known as a run on payment), this won't be deducted from your first UC award.

Transitional Protection exists to make sure you aren't worse off on UC at the point of transfer.

TP does erode over time, with annual benefit rises & any changes in circumstance which mean your UC entitlement increases.

Hello @angie47, welcome to the community 😊 You should receive a letter in the next few months to migrate over. Transitional Protection should make sure you are not immediately worse off, but it does get lower over time.

You can read more about migrating here: Moving to Universal Credit and transitional protection | Disability charity Scope UK

It goes into migration and transitional protection 🙂 It will also link other useful sites and advice sections.
