Hi everyone,

We receive UC as a couple since we migrated from WTC at the end of February this year.

UC today have asked for mine and my wife's monthly earnings in the 4 months prior to claiming, can anyone explain why this is.

I now receive NSESA and will be in the support group from 27th Dec and I was awarded LCWRA with UC in May. My wife works 12 hours per week and both receive Pip standard daily living and standard mobility.

Thanks any help appreciated

This sounds related to the benefit cap exemption. Are they asking you if it was over a certain amount for those months?

Hi thanks for the reply, no they are just asking for the total monthly earnings for the months oct to jan.

We did have an overpayment of WTC of £55 once we migrated over to UC but that was deducted from our UC payment

If your combined earnings have recently dropped below £793 a month, this may have automatically triggered the question. It is not anything to worry over and the amounts you declare will not impact your UC claim.

Additionally, as you both receive PIP and you receive LCWRA you are exempt from the benefit cap anyway.
