May I ask is encouraging someone to get into the shower if they are so depressed they can’t face it the same as prompting someone to get in the shower?
The same for taking medicines, drinking , eating etc ?
Thank you asking for a friend.

On my experience encouraging is advising a person to do something for example getting into the shower.
However, prompting is when you give a gentle prompt or do something shuttle to then prompt someone. For example, if you are prompting someone to get ready you would get all their clothes out on the bed.
