Still waiting for pip decision (01/12/24)

Hi guys, I’m new here. I was just wondering if anyone knows how much more longer I could be waiting ? I will give a breakdown of dates of when I first applied etc….
- Applied for PIP application - July 9th 24
- Visiting officer (helps fill in pip form) attended on - October 10th 24
- PIP assessor called for telephone appointment on - October 25th 24
- Received text informing me “dwp have received my written report etc” on - November 8th 24 (2weeks after assessment)
- Last week Monday I received a text saying “We have not made a decision on your PIP claim etc” - November 25th 24
Please can anyone advise why this is taking so long to pass information to each other and to come to a decision? & how long do they have to get back to me because I revive a text saying it will be 8weeks, then a lady on the phone says 4weeks 🤷🏽♀️

Timescales are up to 12 weeks for a decision after the assessment report is returned. To be fair your timescale has been pretty quick since the form was filled in. The reason it seems a long time is because you waited from July to Oct for someone to come to help fill in the form.
Once a decision is made you will be contacted.

Really, I’ve been so nervous thinking this must be a bad sign as it’s taking so long. Well that has put my mind at ease a little, Thank you Poppy x
I also forgot to add I also received my written report back also. Can’t remember the date though.

One more thing, I have also compared my report marks to the online one. I scored 12points for daily living & 10points for mobility, will the dwp go with this recommendation do you think ?

In my personal experience and that of many others, mostly they go with it but it has been known for them to go against it, although it's rare.

Yeah that’s what I’ve been worried about tbh, them going against the report. Especially as I thought they was taking very long to make a decision considering assessor has suggested 12 & 10points and wrote down all my health problems. Either way I know it’s the DM final decision that matters, I just feel like it’s bad news. Anxiety is through the roof honestly.

Hello
I applied 8th July 2024 , sent forms off with just a few days before the 1month was up , got a telephone assessment booked 12th sept 2024 but didn’t receive a call and they said they called me 3 times , rearranged for 20th Nov 2024 f2f but day before they called to ask if they could change it to a telephone assessment 9am got of phone at 10:31 and then got the text to say pip had received forms at 11:31am , got a text 5th dec to say they haven’t made a decision they will write when they make a decision0 -
UPDATE: I called PIP yesterday “11/12”, I was put through to a case worker who advised that she would speak to the women in charge of my case & get back to me by 5pm. I received a call back at 13:53pm advising that she has spoke to the lady in charge of my case and has been advised that she would be making her decision tomorrow “12/12…
However I did not receive a message at 8am this morning so I was a little anxious as I’ve been reading that thats the time the award messages are received usually. So I waited until 15:30pm & still nothing, so decided to give pip a call and the lady I spoke with advised a decision has been made and that I would receive my decision letter within the next 8days.I then responded & said are you able to tell me over the phone & she said well from what I can see you have been awarded enhanced daily living and standard pip. But my payments have not been updated on the system so I should call back in 1-2days if I would like to know.
I am extremely happy, this has been a long and stressful process. I’m glad it is over, thank you everyone who responded to me. Good luck guys x

I would hold fire before celebrating and I know your assessment report was in your favour. The reason I say this is because the person you spoke to who told you Enhanced daily living and standard mobility would not have been able to have seen anything on the system because they can't until it updates, which can take up to 24 hours.
Usually when a decision is made if there's an award it will often send a text the morning after the decision is made. This means that if a decision has been made I would expect you to receive a text tomorrow, if there's an award. You will then be able to ring them again to ask what the decision was and when to expect any money owed into your bank and they will tell you.

Morning, Just received my text at 08:01am “We have awarded you PIP. We have sent you a decision letter explaining the award. Please allow 2 weeks to receive this. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change.” So will give them a call later and find out the rest, thanks again guys x
