LCWRA payment
Hi, I received an award letter for lcwra on 22nd of last month and have been providing fit notes from may. I have had 3 conflicting accounts on when and what to expect payment wise, any help would be appreciated.
My case worker said I'd have to wait 3 full assessment periods from the award and was due no backdated payment. The UC agent on phone said I was awarded August but my assessment wasn't until November! Any help.would be appreciated to shed some light thanks as the case worker didn't make it any clearer. Thanks

LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods, from the date the first Fit Note was handed in. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.
In order to help we need a bit more information:
The date the first Fit Note was handed in to UC?
Were there any gaps in providing Fit Notes?
Your UC assessment period dates or payment date.

Hi thanks for the reply.
My first fit note was 30/5/2024 and looking at my journal it seems there was a gap where they said I was capable for work because of fit note expiry deemed capable for work on 2nd August but then then provided fit notes from then until 22nd November when I received LCWRA letter
My payment date is the 6th of the month
Thanks

How long was the gap in fit notes? Gaps can affect when the extra money is paid from.

There is an entry in my journal 2nd of August saying I failed to provide a new fit note but the for note I provides took me from 27th of June to 31st of August, so I don't see any gaps in fitness note and don't understand why they said I missed it.
Thanls

Hello @Guitarguy, unfortunately it sounds as though they are saying that they believe there was a gap in August. If you believe this to be incorrect you can ask for them to look again at the decision. You can request this via your journal by leaving a message for your case manager.
