Hi, my name is daz54321! Do I tell them about new diagnoses. Will it affect PIP?

Hi thanks for letting me join I got awarded standard daily living pip 4 year's ago because I am an upper limb amputee I lost my right hand and part of my arm so six months ago I had a heart operation that has left me with heart failure but I don't think it is affecting me and I don't need extra care at the moment anyway and I don't know whether I should report it I don't want to have another assessment coz I don't need extra care and don't want to jeopardize my current pip award can I get in trouble for not telling them can they punish me if they find out about my diagnosis of heart failure, do I have to tell them I would rather leave it until my award is reviewed, I was given a 10 year award, the letter just says that they will contact me in the year 2030 to make sure I am getting the correct amount of care, please help I am so stressed I don't want to tell them anything that will trigger an early review coz I know I will not get more points coz it's not effecting my day 2 days life

Duplicate thread here. PIP is not about a diagnosis so no you do not have to report the changes.

Hi @daz54321 and welcome to the community and thank you for sharing.
I can see you've had some initial feedback from a few of our community members, so I won't add anything at this point but please let us know what you choose to do and how you get on if you're happy to. 🙂
I hope you don't mind but I've amended the title of this post slightly just to make it easier for other members to see what it's about as they're scrolling the discussions.
I hope you get an opportunity to browse the forum categories. The coffee lounge is a really friendly area if you fancy a chat with other users.
All the best,
Holly.
