Council tax

I've just moved house and am about to let my previous council know we've moved to stop the council tax benefit.
II was moved over to uc in September but I've just realised I didn't inform the council. Will I be in trouble for this or do uc let the council know? 😪

Hello @starbuck
Do you receive council tax support? You are supposed to let the council know because it can sometimes change the amount of council tax support you receive, but in many areas UC automatically let them know.
Try not to worry too much, just be honest and open now. They may recalculate your award once you let them know, but hopefully it won't be too different.

Just phoned them and they said yes, they'd been told. I was in full panic mode thinking they'd be after me for not telling them 😋
