hello everyone

I’ve just been awarded Lwcra on 16th December I put my first sick note in on 2nd of August I get my uc payment on 1st of each month was told I get extra pay but didn’t receive any extra on January 1st could you please tell me if I get extra each month if so when should I receive this as it making no sense to me

There's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time for the extra money. It's then paid from the 4th month after you provided your first fit note. First payment is then at the end of that month. It's not paid at all during the waiting period.

Your waiting period will be Sept/Oct, Oct/Nov, Nov/Dec… LCWRA starts from Dec/Jan assessment period and first payment will be 1st February. No LCWRA element is owed.

My advice assumes you continued to provide fit notes without any gaps until a decision was made.

If you're claiming UC with a partner that already receives this element on your claim then you will not receive any extra money. This is because only 1 element can be paid per claim.

If your UC includes Transitional Protection (TP) then this will erode with the additional LCWRA element. If your TP is more than £416.19/month you will not be any better off each month.
