LCWRA
Hi all
I have mentioned this before sorry about asking again....I was awarded LCWRA on the 29th August 2024...but I only filled the form in on migration notice from income support to UC on the 29th August.2024.… my fist sick note was 5th September 2024 to the 1st January 2025...so my first payment was 5th October 2024...I have got the first payment now for LCWRA it was in my January payment....
I just want to know if this is wright....can't understand why I was awarded LCWRA in August 2024 when I had not reserved my first payment for UC…plus my awarded letter for LCWRA was only put on my Journal on the 22nd November 2024
Thank you

As you reported your health condition when you first claimed UC and then provided a fit note within 7 days, the LCWRA award will start from the very start of your claim.
Then there's a waiting period of 3 full assessment periods and the LCWRA element starts from the 4th month, with first payment being the end of that month. LCWRA is not paid at all during this waiting period.
Your waiting period will be Aug/Sept, Sept/Oct, Oct/Nov.. LCWRA starts from 29th Nov to 28th Dec and first payment will be 5th January. Therefore it is correct.
Edit to add I see that your transitional Protection was £600 and you were also claiming carers element for yourself. As you're aware due to those 2, you will not be any better off, you'll be worse off, sadly due to the removal of the carers element.
Fingers crossed the upper Tribunal hearing will rule in the claimants favour, whenever that will be.
