Top up transition protection (how much)
hi I’m thinking going onto uc before my migration - although benefits checkers have given weird result which I have posted so I’m unsure how much uc I will receive- to deduct and work out my wages -

If you have limited capability for work and you started your health-related Universal Credit or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) claim before 3 April 2017 | £156.11 |

- These are all the amounts I’m entitled to but still isn’t as much as my esa payment 481 every two weeks with my disability premiums-
will uc top up further as transition protection to make my amount the same as my uc? And from the advise given because I have severe premium I will get the transitional protection even if I go to uc before migration?- Thanks?

Total of 853.67 when my esa is 962 but 14 times a year if they work it out monthly it would be 1,122.33 a month obviously uc not paying me that much? From what I calculated?

If you're in the Support Group for ESA then you'll be entitled to the LCWRA element from the start of your claim. Therefore your UC would include.. standard allowance £393.45/month + LCWRA element £416.19/month and any other elements you maybe entitled to too such as housing element for help with your rent.
As your ESA includes the SDP and you're in the Support Group then the SDP Transitional element for you would be £140.97/month.
The Transitional Protection for the disability premium doesn't apply. Same as the £156.11, it doesn't apply to you if you're in the Support Group for ESA. This only applies to those in the WRAG whose claim started before April 2017.
How many hours per week will you be working? If it's less than 16 hours and you earn no more than £183.50/week you can continue to claim ESA through permitted work. Permitted work is a lot more generous that the work allowance is for UC.

Do you claim for help with the rent? What's the reason for wanting to claim UC? Is it because you'll be working and earning more than the permitted work rules allow?

I’m in supporting housing so hb will stay pay rent but I’m bidding for property with housing association so hopefully I’ll be shortlisted then claim rent in uc - I’m looking to start another job so takes me over the 15.5 your allowing on esa.

As you're claiming for help with the rent then your work allowance will be £404/month. For every £1 of earnings you receive over that amount then your UC will reduce by 55p, so the it's much less generous than permitted work rules for ESA.
For example.. If your earnings are £1,000 per month this would mean your UC will reduce by £327.80/month. To calculate the deduction £1,000 earnings - £404/ work allowance = £596 x 0.55 for deductions = £327.80/month.

28.5 hrs I’m going to be doing. One 12.5 job and one 16 hr job. Obviously I’m better off still on uc. By 3-400 working this- will the 494 work allowance rise in April 1.7%? How will the new wage if 12.21£ be reflected if they don’t raise it?

From April the work allowance will be £411/month. So every £1 of earnings over that amount and your UC would reduce by 55p.

I'm in a similar situation I have migrated over from ESA support group with sdp. So does this monthly figure work out at £950.61 with transition protection ?

You've claimed because of managed migration having received a letter asking you to claim so for you it will be different. Your UC entitlement will not be any less than your current benefits because if it is TP will make up the difference to make sure you're not worse off at the time of migration.
